Directions:
To reach the park from Interstate 5, take the Alicia Parkway exit, proceed west (approximately 4 miles). 1/4 mile past Aliso Creek Road is AWMA Road, turn right crossing over a bridge; parking is on your left (map to the left).
Parking:
Dirt parking area. Parking fee of $3. Parking lot closes at sunset
Facilities:
Port-a-potties at park entrance and ranger station one mile in.

Park Details:
Open: 7:00 a.m. to sunset year round.

Trails closed for up to three days after rain. Park may be closed during "red flag" high-wind alert days as well.

Approximately 4,000 acres of wilderness and natural open space land. Originally, part of the Juaneno or Acajchemem tribal land, it later was owned by Don Juan Avila, Louis Moulton, The Mission Viejo Company and is now under the jurisdiction of Harbors, Beaches, and Parks Department. Within the park are mature oaks, sycamores, and elderberry trees, two year round streams and over 30 miles of official trails. Many rare and endangered plants and animals make this park their home. This park is designated as a wildlife sanctuary.
